So we’re back in Zurich. We had an amazing time in beautiful Stockholm. We took hundreds of pictures, had a lot of coffees (it was freezing – so good excuse to sit down in a lot of coffee shops), have seen elks, reindeers, wolves etc and did a lot of shopping. We arrived yesterday night and as the fridge was pretty empty did we go shopping. I’ve decided to make an asian cocos-milk soup. It’s absolutely delicious. Patrik loved the Hot-Dogs that u get at every corner in Stockholm – so he made some Hot Dogs.
We’re editing our pics and I’m already looking forward to sharing them with you. But for now – here’s the recipe for the delicious soup – as I don’t like meat did I do it with shrimps – use whatever u like. Enjoy!
Asian Cocos Soup
Ingredients for two:
- 1 green onion
- 50gr brown mushrooms
- 1 lime
- 1 tblsp. oliveoil
- 1 carrot
- 2dl bouillon (vegetable)
- 2.5dl cocos-milk
- 300g chicken or 6 shrimps
- Sojasauce
How to do it:
- Chop the green onion fine and lay some of the green beside (you’ll need it for the decoration). Slit the mushrooms and squeeze the lime.
- Briefly saute the green onions in oil and add the mushrooms. Grate the carotts directly in the pan and sweat it for about a minute. Deglaze it with the bouillon and cocos-milk. Boil up.
- Reduce the heat, add the chicken or shrimps. Simmer for ca. 10 min. (covered). Season to taste with lime juice and sojasauce. Garnish with the greens and ready to serve. Enjoy!

Indian Dinner
I’m back home in my little village at the beautiful lake of Zurich. Time was really running and I had a lot of things to do during the last weeks. But let’s start at the beginning. After seven months and 6 days did I say goodbye Roma. I had some amazing last evening in Rome. Going out with friends, dancing salsa, enjoying a last shopping afternoon at Via del Corso, my last lunch at my favourite spot “Portofino” – they’re having the best Tramezzini in town – last days at work and so on. On Tuesday, 17th November did Freya (my best gf in town) organize an amazing indian dinner at her place. Her mum was visiting her and so she made some typical delicious indian dinner. We had such a great time.

cozy evening
And then .. on the 19th November at 14:50 did I departe Rome Fiumicino to Zurich Airport. It was a beautiful flight with a view to the seaside, flying over Schwarzwald in Germany and a beautiful sunset over a sea of fog. My mum and my best girlfriend Laura picked me up with a Happy Birthday (yes – it was my 20th Birthday!). Coming home – a as always a special feeling. And know .. having in mind that I’ll stay .. at least for some months. In the evening did we have a birhtday dinner with my family and best friends at “Outback Lodge” in Zurich (Australian Bar and Restaurant) . Absolutely recommendable. Friday evening an Asian dinner with one of my best friends at my place and on Saturday eve with 3 friends at a place called “Movies” in Zurich. If you’re ever in Zurich – go to this place! Nice hollywood-atmosphere with a delicious selection of Burgers, Salads, Fajitas, Rice, Nachos, Tapas, Drinks and so on… If it’s your birthday – tell them… they have a special surprise for you.

Fontana di Trevi
So.. but after a lot of dinners did I actually plan to go to New York. Yes .. I’ve booked this flight in July I think and should departe on Wednesday, 25th November 2009 at 09:55 am. I was sooo excited you can’t imagine! I’ve never been there and it was a dream to see this city – especially during christmas time. But… I was standing at the check-in.. giving my passport and a form I had to fill out .. and then they said I couldn’t fly to NYC! I didn’t understand…but I totally forgot to make a visum!!! Can you imagine .. standing at the airport with all your stuff and then they say – “we’re sorry – but you can’t travel to New York”. Yes .. I was totally down … I’ve checked everything again with the Supervisor of Swiss Airlines – but as the States have special rules and agreements – there was no chance to take off for me… So… I went back home – no New York for me this year… but I’m already planning to go there next spring.
So.. I had more time to see different apartments in Zurich. And I found one! A nice apartment in the center of Zurich with two from Germany! I’ll move this week. I’m so excited to live in the city. Today did I just get my stuff ready and now I have to organise who will move my stuff from my parents place to my new place. So you see .. a lot of things are going on. Some last pictures from Rome – I still have thousands to edit. Have a great weekend!

Raphael and Laura
Time is flying .. I just have to say it again and again. My sister and her husband have been here last weekend and now on Wednesday arrived my best girlfriend Laura and my brother Raphael. (They’re a couple for about two years) … Look at them – I love to take pictures of them. They’re so beautiful and absolutely in love. They’re seeing each other everyday and just can’t be without the other. We’ve headed to Piazza Venezia and then to the Olympic Stadium. AS Roma and Fulham were playing (Roma won of course). Now I’m just getting ready to go out and have dinner with them. I love love love them… It’s so great to have the best girlfriend in town. Having caffè and gossiping about sooo many things. I can’t say how much I missed her! So.. heading for a good Pizza .. 12 days left my dears … I don’t wanna leave Rome – it’s my home …

Olympic Stadion
By the way .. it was her 20th birthday two months ago .. u know what he gave her as a present? He told her that she has to be on day x at the station and they will do something … a surprising trip… u wanna know where they went? PARIS … a weekend in the beautiful city of love … I’m so proud of him .. well done bro!

Huh.. it’s been a while. I’ve been pretty busy during the last weeks. 2 days after Patrik left did my parents come and visit me for 4 days. It’s been nice to show them around. They’ve been very interested in all the historical things (especially my mum – she couldn’t get enough to see) and we spent a lot of hours together. We’ve been in the Vatican Museum and it was also for me the first time. I really love that – also after months you still discover places, museum, attractions etc. Afterwards a good friend came and we had a great time together. Going out with friends, shopping, good dinners and drinks. On the 1st October did we (my colleagues from work and me) go together to Bolsena. It’s about 150km north of Rom very close to Tuscany. We made this businesstrip and it’s been great. Just to go out of the city and have a relaxed day in a beautiful village. Bolsena is at the lake of Bolsena and surrounded by grape – and olive plantages. We had an incredible good 4-course meal and just time to relax and enjoy the sun. Let me show you some pics of this beautiful day.
Wow.. and day by day I’m realising a bit more that it’s already October – almost November! I’ll move back home on the 19th November .. I have to admit .. I’m a bit afraid of it. How will it be to live in again in village with a population of 6′000? (Rome has about 6′500′000). Not to have all these italian things around … hm…this international feeling here in Rome with all the people from different countries… probably will it be a shock at first .. but I’ll get used to it .. but hey .. lets enjoy the last 26 days here in bella Roma! My sister and her husband are coming this weekend. Will be great! So.. let me show you the pics and I’ll will hopefully update my blog a bit more often in the future.
Sleep well out there!

My boyfriend Patrik was from the 23th until yesterday eve here in Rome. We had such an amazing time! Of course did we do some sightseeing. Colosseum at night, Fontana di Trevi, Via del Corso, Gianicolo, Vatican and so on and on. Pizza, Pasta, Gelati and caffè. And we had dinner at an incredible cute and romantic restaurant at Piazza Navona. It’s called “Dolce Vita” and I’ve always wanted to go and have dinner there with Patrik. And then we had it. On our last evening and it was perfect. The atmosphere with candles, live music and the beautiful Piazza. But not just the atmosphere also the food was delicious. Bruschetta with tomatoes as antipasti, good Salmon Penne for me and Pesto Spaghetti for Patrik and all this with a good bottle. I’ll never forget this evening. So now.. Patrik already left and is back home in Switzerland. It was hard to say goodbye and we won’t see us for 50 days – until I’m moving back in November. But I bet the time will just fly. Tomorrow evening are my parents coming to Rome for a long weekend. I’m looking forward to show them my favourite places and to walk with them around. So just a few impressions of the last wonderful days.

… I can’t really believe it. In just four days will I pick up my boyfriend at the airport here in Rome! He will stay for 6 days. I can’t wait to show him all the beautiful places. The Colosseum and Vatican, to have a picnic at Villa Borghese and Villa Pamphili, to eat Gelati at my favourite sicilian spot and to eat Pizza at Pizza Forum. But what I’m really looking forward to is waking next to him, hugging him whenever I want and just being around him…. I can’t wait and I’m already getting nervous…

Here are some impressions of the beautiful apartment of my best friend Laura. We had the graduation dinner last Friday at her place (her mum cooked some typical food from Finland) and some pics from the birthday dinner we had at a restaurant in Meilen last Saturday. I’m so in love with Laura’s apartment and I would love to move in! Her mum is an unbeliviable talented painter (u see the pic with the clouds above – she made it! Beautiful, right!). You just feel like home and it’s soo cozy. Have a nice Sunday evening my dears!
